Information for public health action
Western Pacific Surveillance and Response Journal (WPSAR) is a peer review journal on the surveillance of and response to public health events in the Western Pacific Region.
WPSAR is an open access journal, meaning it is free of charge for both readers and authors. It is also a continuous publication which means articles will be published as soon as they have completed the review and editing process. Rapid publication will be considered for articles describing ongoing outbreaks or relevant public health events.
All WPSAR articles are indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Western Pacific Region Index Medicus (WPRIM or apamed central), EBSCO and Google Scholar. We have also been accepted into MedLine/PUB Med pending technical requirements.
An article discussing possible reasons for the preponderance of elderly males in the initial cases of avian influenza A(H7N9) virus in China has been published in the current issue of WPSAR.
