One UN initiative

Viet Nam is one of nine pilot countries around the world embarking on the adoption of a One UN plan.

The One UN plan is part of an ongoing process to make improvements to the way the entire UN family of organizations works. The goal is to adapt to new conditions and provide for changing needs, in all of the areas in which the UN is active.

Essentially – the One UN initiative is a means to deliver better service to the Government and the people of Viet Nam.

WHO is actively engaging with the Government and the thirteen other UN agencies active in Viet Nam in policy dialogue and implementation of the One UN Initiative.

With the strong support of the Government, an action plan towards “One United Nations” in Viet Nam has been established, comprising five elements: One Plan, One Budget, One set of Management Practices, One Leader, and a One UN House.
