Health research

The ultimate benefit of research lies not only in the generation of new knowledge but also in the translation of knowledge into strategies, technologies, and interventions that are effectively and appropriately delivered to benefit the people, in particular the poor and other vulnerable groups.

Objectives

  • To promote development of national health research systems in countries and areas in the Region.
  • To promote and advocate ethical standards in health research.
  • To develop effective links with other organizations involved in health research.
  • To promote use of research results and other information in health policy-making and in provision of health services.
