Workshop on Climate Change and Health in South-East and East Asian Countries

The Workshop on Climate Change and Health in South-East and East Asian Countries was conducted from 2 to 5 July 2007 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia by the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Offices for South-East Asia and the Western Pacific.
The objectives of the workshop were to (1) review and share the experiences of the impacts of climate variability and long‑term climate change in the South-East and East Asia region and actions taken to mitigate them; (2) learn available methodologies and tools for vulnerability assessment and possible options for adaptation to changing climate which minimize health impacts; and (3) develop a regional approach to promote country adaptation mechanisms to address key health and environment issues resulting from climate variability and change.
