The number of cholera cases is increasing due to climate change. This is attributed to:

  • water contamination due to floods;
  • rapid growth of flies and other insects due to dirty and wet places where there are decomposing materials that flies can lay their eggs;
  • increasing uncollected garbage; and
  • improper disposal of human wastes, especially during floods.
