Following the two natural disasters, the Department of Health, WHO, and other partners implemented a detailed plan in December to restore and secure the cold chain in all areas of Bohol. The cold chain is the system used for keeping and distributing vaccines in good conditions; these oral polio vaccines, for instance, needed to be stored at a temperature between -15°C to -25°C to maintain their viability.
