Risk communication

The DOH National Center for Health Promotion (NCHP) lead this focus area, with the following accomplishments:

  • Developed the national risk communication plan;
  • Held orientations on the basics of risk communication, as well as trained spokespersons and advocates among DOH officials and staff, chiefs of hospitals and representatives from other government agencies to serve as communicators within DOH;
  • Organized functional regional risk communication network; and
  • Conducted dissemination forum and workshop planning on risk communication for LGUs in all the 17 regions of the country.

The forum and workshop were attended by the provincial health officers, city health officers, public information officers, health promotion officers, Emerging Infectious Disease (EID) Program managers of the regions and provinces, as well as representatives from local disaster risk reduction and management councils (LDRRMC).
