Evidence-based selection of essential medicines
WHO and the Department of Health - National Center for Pharmaceutical Access and Management (DOH-NCPAM) co-organized a one-week training on pharmaeconomics and its use in medicines selection. Held in April 2011, it was attended by the members of the Philippines National Formulary (PNF). This led NCPAM and PNF members to review and revise the process and requirements in medicines selection.
WHO will further work with NCPAM to develop essential medicines lists for primary care level and on key diseases, based on standard treatment guidelines.
