Policy and Access to Essential Medicines
Information and transparency about prices is critical. WHO is conducting surveys on essential medicines prices and availability in the Philippines on a regular basis.
WHO, as part of the DOH technical working group, will start streamlining the Essential Drug Price Monitoring System. With the help of the National Center for Pharmaceutical Access and Management (DOH-NCPAM), WHO Philippines is also sharing prices information at regional level through the Price Information Exchange web database.
WHO is working with the DOH and PhilHealth on procurement of medicines and financing solutions to reduce prices of essential medicines and make it more affordable to the public.
