LHA and evidence based health budgeting and planning at work in the Province of Capiz
The Province of Capiz is one of the provinces that participated in a pilot local health account (LHA) estimation training. Through the leadership of their Provincial LHA team leader, Provincial Planning and Development Chief, Mr. Antonio. V. Asis, the team was able to share the results of their LHA estimation to Gov. Victor A. Tanco.
As a result, the governor issued Executive Order No. 024 dated 1 July 2009, organizing the Provincial LHA Team and ensuring regular LHA estimation on an annual basis. Gov. Tanco also committed to support LHA activities in his quest to improve health services thereby improving the health status of his constituency. < br/>
A higher 2010 budget for public health and promotion services was approved following the recommendations of the LHA team based on the results of their LHA analysis. < br/>
