Accomplishments of the project

On surveillance systems

  • 3 protocol manuals developed, as guides in operationalization of event-based surveillance and response system (ESRC), with core functions of case detection, verification and response. These are the ESRC user's manual, ESRC manual of operations and a guidebook for LGUs on disease outbreak investigation;
  • 4 videos were developed as accompanying materials for the protocol manuals: cholera video, leptospirosis video; measles video; dengue video; ESRC advocacy video;
  • trainings conducted;
  • training materials were developed, and these are the facilitator’s guide and reference manual;
  • health communications plan on CCAH (?) developed together with IEC materials, which included posters and leaflets on 5 climate change sensitive diseases, namely cholera, dengue, measles, leptospirosis and typhoid fever; advocacy materials for local health providers and local chief executives, and desk and wall calendars (2010 and 2011);
  • documentation of project completed;
  • selected best practices written; and
  • newsletter on climate change and health issued, with project highlights on accomplishments, lessons learned and best practices.
