Plans to catch more TB cases
The NTP adopted the hospital TB-DOTS model. The model will be expanded to about 1 600 hospitals nationwide. Project and hospital staff will help train regional and provincial TB coordinators who will provide technical support in the expansion to both public and private hospitals.
A strategy to detect more TB cases among the TB contacts using x-ray examination as screening tool will be piloted in four cities.
WHO will help develop guidelines on how to manage high risk groups, and propose to DOH for adoption.
