Tobacco

The Tobacco control programme focuses on the implementation of Regional Action Plan (RAP) for the Tobacco Free Initiative in the Western Pacific (2010-2014). This is to assist countries to monitor progress in implementation of the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (WHO FCTC).

One of the key features of the RAP was setting a target of reduction of smoking prevalence of adults and youth for smoked and smokeless tobacco by 10% by 2014.

Providing technical assistance to the Government is a key focus in implementing WHO FCTC in Mongolia.
