WHO Representative a.i. in Mongolia pays a courtesy visit to the Minister of Health

WHO Representative a.i. in Mongolia, Dr Segey Diorditsa, paid a courtesy visit to Mongolia’s Minister of Health, Dr Tsogtsetseg Ayush, on 2 August. The Minister congratulated Dr Diorditsa with his new position. “I’m grateful for WHO’s support and close collaboration with the Government of Mongolia. The Ministry of Health and WHO have years of very close and productive cooperation that I’m sure will continue on,” said Dr A.Tsogtsetseg. The Minister has pointed out that Dr Sergey Diorditsa has assumed WHO Representative’s duties in Mongolia at a very important time when the Country Cooperation Strategy 2017-2021, the main guiding document of the Government of Mongolia and WHO cooperation, is being finalized and the 2018-2019 programmes implementation budget is being discussed. The parties have also discussed the upcoming visit of Dr Shin Young-Soo, the Regional Director of WHO Regional Office for Western Pacific to Mongolia in September and the sixty-eighth session of the World Health Organization Regional Committee for the Western Pacific to be held in October in Brisbane, Australia.

“WHO highly values the leadership of the Ministry of Health in development of Mongolia’s health sector and has always been dedicated in supporting the Ministry in its efforts to strengthen Mongolia’s health system and make Mongolians healthier,” said Dr Sergey Diorditsa. “We’ll continue supporting the Ministry of Health in conducting its programmes and projects and rendering every technical assistance, including support during health emergencies”.

Dr Sergey Diorditsa, formerly a Coordinator of the Extended Programme on Immunization Division at WHO Office for the Western Pacific has assumed his duties on 2 August.

Heads of Departments of the Ministry of Health have attended the meeting.
