World Health Day 2013

High blood pressure, the theme of World Health Day 2013, affects more than one in three adults worldwide and is responsible for 10% of maternal deaths in the Western Pacific Region. It is called a silent killer because it frequently produces no symptoms. An attractive exhibit in the foyer of the Regional Office's conference hall explained the disease and its risk factors. Guests used three dimensional (3D) visors to view underlying messages on a series of stand-up displays.
