Preventing cervical cancer in Lao People's Democratic Republic

“This vaccine, licensed in more than 100 countries in the world, is important because it helps to prevent HPV types 16 and 18 that cause most cervical cancer,” said Dr Yunguo Liu, WHO Representative in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, at the national HPV vaccine launch on 2 October 2013. “Action today means a reduction of suffering from cervical cancer in the future.”
