Eliminating measles and rubella Measles is one of the most contagious and devastating diseases. As many as 2-15% of children who are infected with measles die as a result. Rubella is another dangerous diseases. When pregnant women are infected, it can cause their babies to be blind, deaf or have heart defects. Both of these terrible diseases can be prevented by vaccination.
