Expanded programme on immunization

Vaccinate at birth, protect for life

Keeping it cool

A small, non-descript refrigerator right between the delivery and recovery rooms is the key to keeping the vaccines ready for use and safe from spoilage. Hepatitis B vaccine must be handled with care and kept at a temperature ranging from 2° to 8° Celsius. Too cold and it freezes, too warm and it spoils, rendering it useless. Thus, the refrigerator temperature should be monitored and recorded every day.
