Pacific Open Learning Health Net (POLHN)
The Pacific Open Learning Health Net (POLHN) provides online and hybrid course, course materials and health information to health professionals in the Pacific Island countries on its website at www.polhn.org. POLHN distributes digital and print products to learning centres located in hospitals, community health centres, and nursing schools throughout the region. Its purpose is to use eLearning to improve the quality and standards of practice of health professionals.
In 2011, POLHN offered over 150 courses to 850 health professional participants in the Pacific. One of the strengths of POLHN is its ability to increase access to continuing health education and online health resources in an affordable and relevant manner. The ability of students to both work and study simultaneously incorporates best educational practices by providing them with the opportunity to immediately apply their learning to the workplace.
Your continuous health education is essential to improve the quality of care provided to the people of the Pacific. POLHN’s aim is to ensure you have access to a variety of courses and digital health resources available through the Internet.
