Nursing and Midwifery Network and Partners
South Pacific Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officers Alliance (SPCNMOA)
The SPCNMOA, an alliance of government nursing and midwifery leaders of the South Pacific Island nations, launched in Rarotonga, Cook Islands in November, 2004, aims to enhance nursing and midwifery effectiveness in promoting and improving the population health in member jurisdictions by raising the quality and relevance of nursing, midwifery and health leadership in health services and nursing and midwifery education.
The work of the SPNCMOA is facilitated through alliances and collaboration with member jurisdictions, academic, regulatory and service partners in activities such as information sharing, capacity building, research, and education and service projects focused on addressing national and subregional human resource and health service priorities.
The Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery and Health, University of Technology, a WHO Collaborating Centre for Nursing, Midwifery and Health in Sydney, Australia, serves as the SPCNMOA Secretariat.
