Gonorrhoea Antimicrobial Surveillance Programme (GASP)
Gonococcal resistance pattern in the Western Pacific Region
A high proportion of penicillin and/or quinolone resistance has been reported in Asia. Lower rates of penicillin resistance and little quinolone resistance have been reported by Pacific island countries.
Penicillin resistance in 9048 strains of N. gonorrhoeae isolated in 17 countries and jurisdictions in the WHO WPR and five countries in *SEAR in 2008
