Regional Action Plan for Viral Hepatitis 2016-2020
A priority action plan for awareness, surveillance, prevention and treatment of viral hepatitis in the Western Pacific Region
The Regional Action Plan for Viral Hepatitis in the Western Pacific 2016–2020 was approved by Member States at the 66th WHO Regional Committee for the Western Pacific and endorsed as part of Resolution WPR/RC66.1 on 14 October 2015.
The action plan provides a systematic approach to priority areas for action to reduce the impact of viral hepatitis, with a focus on chronic hepatitis B beyond immunization and hepatitis C. It was developed through extensive Member State and expert consultations during 2014 and 2015, during which milestones and targets were proposed and agreed.
The regional action plan is aligned with the objectives and goals of the Global Health Sector Strategy for Viral Hepatitis 2016-2021.
