To meet the challenges of rapidly changing, complex health care and delivery systems, all health professionals require the tools, knowledge and capacities to address health needs and to enhance health system challenges — through strategic planning, policy analysis and formulation, monitoring and evaluation. Health leadership programmes and activities supported by WHO include formal and informal programmes of study, including mentored leadership courses and in-country activities and research aimed at addressing priority health challenges.
