Summary

An Agreement for Performance of Work (APW) was contracted with Mrs Shereen P. Singh to introduce water quality, sanitation, nutrition and food safety into school policies, actions and curricula in Fiji. The terms of reference are to: a) introduce food safety, safe water, nutrition and adequate sanitation concepts and practices through training of ten (10) or more teachers from at least ten (10) different schools; b) develop student activities related to these areas for inclusion in the curriculum; c) deliver and introduce ten (10) school kits for use within the trial schools; and d) provide a completion report to the WHO Representative including photodocumentation of activities. The World Health Organization project in collaboration with the Ministry of Education (Fiji) aims to introduce into the school curriculum topics covering nutrition, food safety, safe water quality and sanitation; to make children 'healthier'; and to provide a supportive environment at school.
