Field Test of Programme Management Guidelines on Child Health
Summary
A second field test of the course materials for the Managing Programmes to Improve Child Health workshop was conducted from 28 November to 7 December 2007 in Manila, the Philippines. The course was developed by WHO in response to a demand from programme managers. The first three days of the field test were spent in reviewing materials and training facilitators. The course materials were then field tested with participants over five days (3−7 December).
Programme managers from Cambodia, China, Ghana, Indonesia, the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Mongolia, Papua New Guinea, the Philippines and Viet Nam participated in the field test. Methods included presentations by facilitators, directed reading, completion of worksheets in small groups, small and large group discussions, exercises and role plays.
